Convenient for you and your family

We provide 1:1 support for children and young people who are requiring some extra support for the emotional wellbeing.  We work with your child at a time and place that works for them.  This can be either at school, during the school day or at home after school. This reduces the time taken out of your child’s education and ensures you and your family have minimal disruption to your daily routine.

Providing The Tools

Calm Little Minds provides a package of resources & strategies for children and families so that they can work together to get through the difficult times. With the correct tools and practice, your child can take responsibility for their actions and with your support help them when they are struggling.  Throughout the sessions they will learn self-help skills to influence their reactions and reduce their behaviours that are causing them distress.

Assessment & Approach

Following the receipt of your referral, We will contact you for and offer an initial assessment. This assessment is with the parents and we use this time to discuss your child in detail. The assessment provides us with all the information we require before starting work with your child.

The chargeable assessment is up to an hour and takes place, face to face at a time and place convenient to you.  From this we will discuss with you how we can best support your child and create a package that will suit your child’s requirements.

Whilst we suggest six weekly sessions works well, we are flexible on this and you can have more or less, dependant on what works for you. We will also advise as we go, as to whether we feel your child requires additional sessions.

Our sessions are up to an hour which includes feedback provided to you after the session.  The sessions not only provide strategies to encourage and support positive outcomes, they are also a time for us to unpick what has gone on for the child and what has triggered their behaviour.

The 1:1 session is a safe space for your child and a time for them to talk openly and honestly about how they are feeling. Whilst we respect each child and their confidentiality, we have a duty of care to follow the safeguarding procedure should anything arise.

Our sessions are chargeable per session.  On agreement with the session bookings, we then send you an invoice and a contract.  We expect the contract to be returned and the payment to be sent  before the first session with your child.

If your child is unwell and unable to attend a session, we require as much notice as possible.  Whilst we know this can not always be helped, we will do our best to reschedule an appointment with you, but if we have not been notified with enough time then the session will be chargeable.  Please see our terms and conditions for more information.
